There are many hidden features inside your Canon dSLR. Magic Lantern is the key you need to Current cameras supported include the 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 6D, 7D, 50D, 60D, 500D/T1i, 550D/T2i
The raw video clip is actually 1728x972 scaled to 1080p. Shooting raw on the 5DMII is limited in the size that it can shoot. Technically the 1080p coming out of the camera is actually 1880x1080 scaled by the camera to 1920x1080. This means that the raw video comes out at a max of 1880 wide. Because of recording limitations on the CF cards the Magic lantern was great 10 years ago when DSLR video was in its infancy. Magic Lantern was enabling new and unheard of features on cameras like the 5D II. If I remember correctly, RAW video from the M was not even at 1080p resolution. If all you have is an M, then by all means give Magic Lantern a try.Canon 5D Mark II 2.1.2 w/94k actuations Canon 35mm F/2 IS VAF 5D2 AA Filter SanDisk ExtremePro 32Gb UDMA 7 160MB/s CF card magiclantern-crop_rec-3k_Updated_Center_4.20pm-5D2-eXperimental.2019Nov14.5D2212 from Reddeercity 100 ISO 1866 x 1044 1.00x Crop @ 23.976 fps 1/50s Methodology :

For widescreen, this build will also shoot 1216x416/23.976fps continuously.
Question @dfort, would the 5D Mark II image look more competitive and have reduced noise if we compared FHD 3x3 1856x1248 vs the BMPCC4K. We are really in the Vortex when we compare 2.6K Crop vs 4K crop sensor of noise, when the real comparison is how much scaling can the 5D Mark II ML FHD 1856x1248 take vs BMPCC4K 4K crop sensor.
Magic Lantern delivered the proof of concept that it is possible to get 4K video on an EOS 5D Mark III. However, as cool as it is (it is), it’s a proof of concept, not even a working alpha version. There are many issues to solve before you can get working 4K on the EOS 5D Mark III.As we all know the Canon 5D Mark II has a serious issue when it comes to using it with an external monitor. Don't get me wrong, I have no answers for this. But what is more annoying is that it is almost impossible to find one, an answer that is. The Problem - Though there is an HDMI out, and while perussing a setup, one can see the image in HD; when one pushes the little "red" button to record New Build for 700D: 1- Added New 4.3K Anamorphic 1x3 Preset 1440x1836 1.94 Crop factor 2.35:1 AR with Correct Preview. 2- Added option for 25 FPS in crop_rec. 3- Added 9/8 Bit-Depths for both crop_rec and crop_new. 4- In crop_new Now there is an Option for fixing Preview in x5 Mode Max X resolution should be 3112. tlZ0.
